Story of the movie ‘Monkey’

Directed by Anurag Kashyap, the film is based on the complex consequences of Me Too allegations in digital-age India. The film’s script revolves around ‘Samar’, a former television superstar whose career is on the decline. The story takes a turn when Samar’s ex-girlfriend Gayatri accuses him of rape. This allegation is made when Samar breaks contact with him completely. Samar then gets arrested and gets trapped in a legal system that is more interested in keeping him behind bars than providing justice. The film promises to boldly bring to the screen the abuse of power, corruption and failures of the system.

Amazing star cast and technical team

Produced by Nikhil Dwivedi’s Saffron Magicworks and released by Zee Studios, the film features a long and talented cast. Apart from Bobby Deol, actors like Sanya Malhotra, Sapna Pabbi, Saba Azad, Indrajit Sukumaran, Jitendra Joshi, Raj B Shetty and Nagesh Bhosle will be seen in important roles in the film. The film is written by Sudeep Sharma and Abhishek Banerjee, who are known for their realistic and impactful stories. The film is all set to hit the theaters on June 5, 2026.
