Shakti Kapoor made his Bollywood debut in the year 1977 with a film named ‘Khel Khiladi’, in which Dharmendra and Hema Malini were in the lead roles. But he got real recognition by playing the role of a villain in ‘Qurbani’ (1980). Shakti Kapoor worked in more than 700 films in his career and crime master Gogo, Nandu and Batuknath became his most famous characters. In his career spanning more than 4 decades, he played villain roles in many films. He was one of the main villains of the industry in the 80-90s. Shakti Kapoor is one of the few actors in Hindi cinema who is known for both negative and comic roles.
Daughter took four steps forward in stardom
Shakti Kapoor is still active in the film world and his daughter Shraddha Kapoor has become a Bollywood superstar. Shraddha Kapoor made her debut in 2010 with ‘Teen Patti’, for which she also won the Filmfare Award for Best Debut, but she got real recognition from ‘Aashiqui 2’, which gave a new direction to her career. Shraddha was last seen in ‘Stree 2’, which was released in 2024 and was one of the highest-grossing films of this year. Stree 2 surprised everyone by collecting more than Rs 850 crore at the worldwide box office.
