While it has been 6 months since Ranveer Singh starrer ‘Dhurandhar’ was released, it has been more than 2 months since ‘Dhurandhar 2’ was released, but even now the discussions about these films have not reduced. ‘Dhurandhar 2’ is still making waves in theatres. Both the films have created a huge stir at the box office and with this they have become the most successful franchises of Bollywood. Both the films together have collected more than Rs 3 thousand crores. In this film, along with Ranveer Singh, stars like Akshay Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, Sara Arjun, R Madhavan and Arjun Rampal are also playing important roles, whose acting is being discussed a lot. This actor was the first to be finalized for Dhurandhar
The first part of the ‘Dhurandhar’ franchise, directed by Aditya Dhar, was released on 5 December 2025 and the second on 19 March 2026. In which actors like Ranveer Singh to Sanjay Dutt were seen. The film received tremendous response from the audience. But, recently Rakesh Bedi revealed the secret that he was cast in ‘Dhurandhar’ much before Ranveer Singh, Akshay Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, R Madhavan or Arjun Rampal and that too when the script of this film was not even ready.
Casting was done even before the script was ready
Rakesh Bedi, while talking to ANI, revealed that director Aditya Dhar had cast him for his film Dhurandhar when its script was not even ready. He had just one idea in his mind and this idea came to him during ‘Uri: The Surgical Strike’. Talking about this, Rakesh Bedi said, “I think and Aditya Dhar has also said that I was the first person to be cast in ‘Dhurandhar’. He cast me 3-4 years before the script was ready. He cast me while making Uri. This was when he did not even have a script. However, he had an idea, and on the basis of that idea, Aditya Dhar chose me for a role.”
Now people know him by the name of Jamil Jamali – Rakesh Bedi
Rakesh Bedi further says, “It is a big thing for me that Aditya Dhar thought of me like this and cast me in his film. He chose me for this role because he has seen my work. I have tried to take the character forward in all my roles and hence today people know me either for the role of Jamil Jamali or as the character of Mr. Mrs.”
