Shreyas Iyer gave advice to sister, showed strength in reality show Lock Up

Indian cricket captain Shreyas Iyer’s sister, Shrestha Iyer, was recently eliminated from Netflix’s reality show ‘Locked Up’, bringing her first reality TV show experience to an early end. However, Shrestha is not disappointed with her ouster. She says that being a part of the Netflix show was a great opportunity, but she feels that she was not right for the show.

What did Shrestha Iyer say?

Speaking to ANI, he said, ‘It was not right for me. I guess only experience tells. I thought I could do it and everything would be fine, but once I got in I realized it wasn’t for me. But obviously, with a good platform like Balaji and Netflix, I couldn’t refuse. I got this opportunity and it’s a great platform that gives tremendous exposure, so I said yes. My trip was only for a week, but I think it was enough to show people who understood me who I was. I am happy with this experience and completely satisfied with my journey.

What advice did you get from Shreyas Iyer?

When asked about the conversation she had with her family, especially her brother Shreyas, before going on the reality show, Shrestha said that they had told her to be careful and not get easily provoked. He further said, ‘I did not have much conversation with Shreyas because he was also going for his matches. And I respect his space and his zone because playing for the country is a big thing and I did not want to disturb him. But before he is a cricketer, he is my brother, so I had to tell him that I am doing this and he has always been supportive. He always tells me, okay, you do it, see if you feel it’s right for you or not. And he wished me good luck and said, be careful, stay as you are. He said, stay positive, don’t let anyone influence you. He said, ‘People will provoke but do not get provoked easily’ Shrestha Iyer is very active on social media and her reels have got a lot of followers. However, he has often faced criticism online, especially during the last season of the Indian Premier League, when he was heavily trolled.
