Sanjay Kapoor’s property dispute worth Rs 30 thousand crore reaches Supreme Court


There is an ongoing dispute in the family regarding the property of Karisma Kapoor’s ex-husband and late businessman Sanjay Kapoor that is showing no signs of ending. Ever since Sanjay Kapoor passed away, there has been a dispute in his family regarding his property and now once again this dispute has come into discussion. In fact, now Sanjay Kapoor’s mother Rani Kapoor has approached the Supreme Court in this matter and in a recently filed petition has demanded that her late son i.e. Sanjay Kapoor’s third wife Priya Sachdev Kapoor and other concerned parties should be stopped from interfering in the functioning of the RK Family Trust.

Demand for ban in company’s board meeting

Rani Kapoor has demanded from the Supreme Court to stay the company’s board meeting to be held on May 18. Actually, this meeting has been decided on the basis of the notice issued by Raghuvanshi Investment Private Limited on May 8. This is the same company, which owns a large part of the family’s disputed property. Now a demand has been made by Rani Kapoor to ban this board meeting. The lawyer appearing on his behalf mentioned this petition before the Supreme Court.

Mahabharata will also seem small

According to the lawyer’s argument, the purpose of this meeting is to appoint additional directors. Now a bench headed by Justice JB Pardiwala has listed the next hearing for May 14. During the hearing, the judge said, ‘We have entered an area where Mahabharata will seem very small. We will investigate this matter.

Sanjay Kapoor passes away

Let us tell you, Sanjay Kapoor, who was the chairman of Sona Comstar, had said goodbye to this world on June 12, 2025. He lost his life at the age of 53 while playing polo in the UK. The investigation concluded that his death was natural and the cause of death was cardiac arrest. Sanjay Kapoor left behind property worth about Rs 30 thousand crores, which is under legal dispute. Recently, the Delhi High Court, while hearing the property dispute of Sanjay Kapoor, had ordered to maintain the status quo on the entire property by prohibiting the creation of third party rights on Sanjay Kapoor’s property. After this decision, there will be a ban on transfer or sale of Sanjay Kapoor’s property until the legal dispute is completely resolved.
