Stuck in censorship tussle with CBFC, the film was released in theaters after a delay of 7 months, due to which it made huge money at the box office on the opening day. Released on Thursday, July 23, the film surprised everyone by collecting more than Rs 42 crore on the very first day. After seeing the opening collection of ‘Jana Nayakan’, it was expected that in the coming days this film will soon cross the figure of Rs 200 crore at the domestic box office, but it could not happen. 6 days have passed since the release of the film and still it has not touched the figure of Rs 200 crore at the box office. Jana Nayakan box office collection
Thalapathy Vijay’s film took a stellar start at the box office. According to Sacknilk, ‘Jana Nayakan’ opened with Rs 42.70 crore at the box office and collected Rs 21.70 crore on the second day. There was a decline of more than 50 percent in the film’s earnings on the second day, but it soon gained momentum. On Saturday, i.e. the third day, the film collected Rs 28.50 crores, on the fourth day it earned Rs 32 crores and on the fifth day it earned Rs 10.65 crores. Now the collection figures of its sixth day have also been revealed, according to which, the film could collect only Rs 8 crore on Tuesday. With this, the gross India collection of the film has reached 167.57 crores and the net collection has reached 143.40 crores.
Worldwide Collection
Talking about the worldwide performance of ‘Jana Nayakan’, the film is getting tremendous response in foreign countries and till now the film has earned Rs. 246.07 crores worldwide. However, it remains to be seen whether the pace of the film increases in the times to come or it slows down day by day. In the coming days, Tom Holland’s famous film ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ is being released at the box office, which can affect the collection of ‘Jana Nayakan’. After this, ‘Prahar – The Ujjwal Nikam Story’ is also ready for release in theatres.
Film released 7 months late
For your information, let us tell you that the release of ‘Jana Nayakan’ was delayed due to problems related to CBFC certification. The certification issue even reached the Supreme Court, but still the film was released in theaters only after a delay of 7 months. After the release of the film, Trisha Krishnan also came to watch the first day first show of ‘Jana Nayakan’, information about which she gave through one of her Instagram stories. Recently, the film’s director H Vinoth announced that he will add 6 deleted scenes to the film and from next week the film will be shown with these 6 deleted scenes. He organized a meet in Chennai on Monday, where this announcement was made.
