According to the holiday calendar of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), banks will remain closed for a total of 14 days in different states of the country in August 2026. These include Sunday, second and fourth Saturdays as well as many regional and religious festival holidays. In such a situation, it would be better to plan your banking in time.

Banks will remain closed on these dates

In August 2026, banks will remain closed on 2, 4, 8, 9, 13, 15, 16, 19, 22, 23, 25, 26, 28 and 30 August. However, some of these holidays will not be applicable across the country. Many holidays will be valid only in the respective states. Therefore, before going to the bank, definitely check the information about holidays of your state.

A total of 7 holidays in August 2026 will be due to weekends. There will be weekly holidays on August 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30, while banks will remain closed on August 8 and 22 due to the second and fourth Saturday respectively.

Online services will continue

Despite bank branches remaining closed, customers do not need to worry much. Net banking, mobile banking, UPI and ATM services will remain fully operational during the holidays. However, if you have to go to the branch and do any work, then plan your work only after seeing this list of holidays so that there is no inconvenience.
