Akshay Khanna, who played the role of Rahman dacoit in the film Dhurandhar, received a lot of praise. Now after Dhurandhar, his another film ‘Ikka’ is preparing for release. Today the trailer of the film Ikka has been released in which Akshay Khanna is seen sharing the screen with Sunny Deol after 29 years. Akshay Khanna is doing well in this character and its trailer is making headlines. Directed by Sidharth P. Malhotra, the film is more than just a legal argument, it is about family, relationships and the difficult decisions people have to make when their most precious things are at stake. Sunny Deol plays the character of Arjun Mehra, who is known for sticking to his word. This is clear from his dialogue, ‘We fight for our rights, not to win in the court.’
What is the story of the film?
The story takes a new turn when he decides to defend Shauryaman Gaur (Akshay Khanna) in a high-profile case of attempt to murder. During legal proceedings, it becomes difficult to differentiate between their personal and professional lives, causing them to question their values. Another character in the trailer is Tilottama Shome who is the prosecution lawyer (prosecutor) Madhura Banerjee and wants to prove her case in the court. Dia Mirza plays the character of Arjun’s wife Avantika. His life changes completely during the legal proceedings. It seems that the film will not be limited to just courtroom debates, but will also show how a case affects the lives of everyone involved.
Akshay Khanna will again be seen growling on screen
Talking about this project, Sunny Deol said, ‘Ikka is not just a courtroom drama. This is a story of family, relationships and difficult decisions to be taken in life. Arjun is a man who believes in doing the right thing, but circumstances force him to question everything around him. His pain, his anger, his silence and his fight for what he believes in – these are the things that drew me to this character. This film is also very special because it is my first direct-to-streaming release. I am happy that audiences in India and across the world will be able to watch ‘Ikka’ through Netflix.
