Ananya Pandey has now released her latest release film ‘Chand Mera Dil’ in theatres. Lakshya Lalwani is in the lead role with Ananya in this film. The film is getting good response from the audience, but a dance sequence of Ananya has made her the target of trolls. A clip of ‘Chand Mera Dil’, which was released in theaters on May 22, is going viral on social media, due to which there is a flood of memes. This video clip is of that dance sequence, after watching which Lakshya Lalwani’s character falls in love with Ananya Pandey’s character Chandni. But, the audience was disappointed after seeing the classical dance of the actress.
Debate broke out on Ananya Pandey’s dance
Ananya Pandey has played the character of a girl named Chandni in ‘Chand Mera Dil’, who is an engineering student as well as a Bhardanatyam dancer. There is a scene in the film, in which Chandni is shown performing Bharatnatyam, after watching which Aarav gets impressed. But, now this dance sequence has created a stir on social media. After seeing Ananya’s posture and body posture in the video, they are holding their own heads and criticizing it fiercely.

On social media, users are reacting fiercely to Ananya’s dance. While sharing the post on X, a user wrote – ‘Bharatanatyam went into decline in 200 AD itself. It ended with Ananya Pandey in 2026. While one wrote- ‘Bharatnatyam has been destroyed.’ While one writes – ‘Even if this is fusion, it will not be accepted. Did the makers not see this before release? Another writes – ‘This is an insult to our culture, what was the need to roboticize the currencies?’
Ananya’s fans defended her
However, some fans were also seen defending Ananya. Many called it the choreographer’s mistake while others liked the creativity. Talking about the box office collection of the film, ‘Chand Mera Dil’ collected around Rs 3 crore in India on the first day, Rs 3.75 crore on the second day, Rs 4.25 crore on the third day and Rs 2.25 crore on the fourth day. Till now this film has collected Rs 13.25 crore. Apart from Ananya Pandey and Lakshya Lalwani, actors like Aastha Singh, Pratham Rathore, Ashish Dubey, Ankur Poddar and Elvish Jose are in important roles in this film.
