Rajma is a recipe which everyone likes. Its taste tastes amazing with rice. Usually this recipe is made in a pan but let us tell you how to make it in a cooker.
Ingredients for making Rajma in cooker:
Rajma 250 grams, Onion 3, Tomato 4, Green chilli 2, Garlic 8-10, Ginger, Cinnamon 2 inches, Big cardamom 1, 2 bay leaves, 1 tsp cumin, 1 tsp salt, Half tsp turmeric powder, 2 tbsp Kashmiri red chilli powder, 2 tbsp coriander powder, 1/2 tsp garam masala, 1 tbsp ghee, 3 cups water, hot water as required. How to make Rajma in cooker?
Soak Rajma for 6-8 hours. Now after the stipulated time, put the soaked Rajma in the pressure cooker. Add onion and tomato along with it. There is no need to cut the tomatoes, just make cross cuts on them. Now add green chilli, garlic, ginger, cinnamon, black cardamom, bay leaf, cumin, salt, turmeric powder, Kashmiri red chilli powder, coriander powder and garam masala.
Now finally add ghee and water and mix everything well. After that, close the lid of the cooker and cook on high flame till 1 whistle, then reduce the flame and cook for 15 minutes. Once cooked, turn off the flame and let the steam from the cooker come out on its own.
When the steam from the cooker comes out, open the lid and check. The tomatoes will have become completely soft. Remove their peels and remove the whole spices from above. The garlic would also have become completely soft and the kidney beans would have been cooked well. Now turn on the gas again and boil again, while stirring well so that the tomatoes and onions get completely mixed in the gravy. Within a minute or two you will see that everything is mixed well.
Taste and adjust salt if necessary. Finally add some garam masala, roasted kasoori methi powder, ghee and fresh coriander. Mix well and your very tasty and easy to make pressure cooker rajma is ready.
