Ingredients for Aloo Katli
500 grams potatoes, 2 teaspoons rice flour, mustard oil, a pinch of asafoetida, 1 teaspoon cumin, half teaspoon turmeric powder, 1 teaspoon salt, 4-5 green chilies, 1 teaspoon coriander powder, 1 teaspoon red chili powder, 1 teaspoon chili flakes, half teaspoon black salt, half teaspoon garam masala, half teaspoon mint powder.
How to make Aloo Katli?
First step: To make Aloo Katli, first of all, peel 500 grams of potatoes and wash them thoroughly. Take all the potatoes of the same size so that they resemble the shape of the kulthi. Wash the potatoes two to three times to remove the starch. After washing the potatoes, cut them into round shapes. Keep in mind that the potatoes should not be cut in too thin shape nor too thick. You can also use a slicer to cut them.
Second step: After giving Katli shape, wash the potatoes once again in water. After washing, let all the water drain out. Keep it in the strainer in such a way that all the water dries thoroughly. If the potatoes remain even a little wet, they may stick to the pan, so dry them thoroughly. You can also use cotton cloth to dry potatoes.
third step: When the potatoes become dry, add rice flour for crispiness. Now pour mustard oil in a pan and spread it all around. Now add one spoon cumin and temper it. When it starts crackling, add potatoes and stir on high flame. For Crispy Aloo Katli, it has to be made on high flame only. Add turmeric powder and keep stirring it even after covering it with a lid so that it does not stick to the pan.
fourth step: When the potatoes are cooked, add salt, green chilli, coriander powder, red chilli powder, chilli flakes, black salt, garam masala and mint powder, mix and cook for some time. Your Aloo Katli is ready, now serve it and eat it with tea.
