In a post, Shah remembered the late artiste’s legacy and wrote, ‘With the demise of veteran singer Suman Kalyanpur ji, the Indian music world has lost a melodious voice. Kalyanpur ji, who lived a life dedicated to music, will be remembered for immortalizing the songs of various Indian languages. My condolences are with his bereaved family and millions of fans.

Who was Suman Kalyanpur?
Padma Bhushan awardee Suman Kalyanpur, known for his songs in Hindi and Marathi film industry, passed away at the age of 89. He was given a final farewell with state honors in Mumbai on Monday. The last rites of the great singer were held at the Santa Cruz (Pawan Hans) cremation ground. Meanwhile, condolence messages are coming from all over the country. Union ministers, political leaders and members of the cultural world have also paid tribute, remembering his indelible contribution to Indian cinema and music. Kalyanpur’s career spanned more than three decades, being active from 1954 to 1988.
