A mega flop made for Rs 400 crore, the film became a joke and the director lost his patience.

In the last few years, the audience has proved that what they care about is good content, not star power. That’s why a debut actor’s film like ‘Sayara’ did wonders at the box office, while the films of many big stars were not even appreciated by the audience. Earlier this year, a similar film was released, the reaction given by the audience after watching it had an impact on its business and within two days, the audience went crazy. The most important thing is that this film had a Pan India star in the lead role and Bollywood villain Sanjay Dutt was also a part of it, but still this film could not attract the audience. Yes, we are talking about Prabhas starrer ‘The Raja Saab’, which was released in theaters earlier this year and failed at the box office.

The director was very excited

Prabhas is in the lead role in ‘The Raja Saab’ and along with him, actors like Sanjay Dutt, Malvika Mohanan, Nidhi Agarwal, Riddhi Kumar and Zarina Wahab are also in important roles. Not only the audience but also its director Maruti Dasari was very excited about this Prabhas starrer horror comedy and was also quite confident about the film. Even before the release of the film, he had claimed it to be a blockbuster and also said that the audience will definitely enjoy this film. But, when the film was released, both the audience’s enthusiasm and the director’s confidence were shattered. The film received negative reviews and the audience’s experience was also not special. The result was that the film flopped at the box office.

Director Maruti was disappointed with the negative review.

Director Maruthi also became quite disappointed with the reviews the film received and the tag of flop. By sharing a post on social media, he had reacted to the film being called a flop and negative reviews and expressed his disappointment. Reacting to the failure of his film, he said, ‘It hurts a lot when your hard work becomes just a joke on social media. It takes at least 3 years for the 3-hour film that the audience watches on the screen. It is very visible when work is ridiculed and dismissed. Even if you choose to remain silent. The makers keep their pain limited to themselves instead of sharing it publicly.

Maruti had reacted about the film The Raja Saab

Whereas Maruti, while defending his film, blamed the audience for its flop. He had said- ‘The audience watched The Raja Saab in a festive mood. He was expecting light entertainment, so he may not have been able to understand the depth of the film’s narrative. Let us tell you, Prabhas starrer The Raja Saab was released in theaters on January 9, 2026 and the budget of the film was around Rs 400 crore. But this film failed to earn only Rs 208 crore at the box office, due to which the makers suffered a huge loss.
