Recently, a similar case of cyber fraud has come to light in Mumbai, where a person was looking at photos of women on Facebook and Rs 70 thousand went missing from his account. The man’s phone started heating up during this time, but he ignored it. This is a shocking case of cyber fraud, in which the person did not even know and his account became empty.

According to PTI report, after the cyber fraud, the person complained to the police. According to Mumbai Police, on Monday, June 15, while scrolling on Facebook, the person clicked on a photo attached to a dangerous link, due to which cyber criminals controlled access to the person’s phone. After this, online transactions started happening rapidly and Rs 70 thousand went missing from the account. Police are currently investigating this matter.

Don’t ignore these things

  • Never click on any unknown link knowingly or unknowingly.
  • Whenever there is any activity in the background of the smartphone, the phone suddenly starts heating up.
  • Apart from this, data consumption also increases and many unknown apps start appearing in the phone.
  • Pop-up advertisements start appearing again and again on the phone screen.
  • Apart from this, the smartphone also starts slowing down suddenly.
  • The microphone and camera icons should appear on the smartphone display.

How to avoid?

  • To avoid such fraud, never click on unknown links appearing through any message or post e-mail.
  • Do not install any unknown apps in your smartphone.
  • Avoid installing third party apps.
  • Give only essential access to any apps. Giving all access can prove dangerous for you.
  • Do not share phone password and OTP etc. with anyone.
  • In case of fraud, immediately call cyber crime helpline number 1930.
