BCCI posted information on social media on April 29 and shared the information in which it said that Team India’s squad for the Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 will be announced on May 2. Along with this, the squad will also be announced for the three-match T20 series against England to test Team India’s preparation before the World Cup. Team India had a very poor performance in the last T20 World Cup, in which they could not even go beyond the group stage. However, this time everyone is expecting better performance from the Indian women’s team in which most of the players have a lot of experience in the T20 format.

Team India has got a place in Group-A

In the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026, the Indian team has got a place in Group A, which includes the women’s teams of Australia, Pakistan, South Africa, Bangladesh and Netherlands. Team India has to play its first match in the mega tournament against Pakistan women’s team on June 14 at Birmingham ground. After this, their next match will be against Netherlands women’s team on June 17. On June 21, Team India will play its third match in the tournament against South Africa women’s team, while on June 25, it will face Bangladesh women’s team. The Indian women’s team has to play its last match in the group stage on June 28.

While the places of some players in Team India are considered confirmed for the T20 World Cup 2026, there can be discussion about some names, some of which were also tried in the T20 series against Africa. One name in this is also that of Bharti Phulmali.
