Rahul Dravid: A new league is going to start in Europe, in which the team of one of the biggest legends of Indian cricket, Rahul Dravid, will be seen participating. In this league, former Team India captain and great batsman Rahul Dravid will be seen in the role of team owner. He has been announced as the owner of the European T20 Premier League franchise Dublin Guardians.

6 teams will participate in ETPL

The European T20 Premier League i.e. ETPL officially announced Dravid’s name on May 11. With this, the structure of all the 6 franchises of this new league starting in 2026 was completed. Rahul Dravid was introduced as the owner of the Dublin franchise in a grand event held in Dublin. Many big personalities from the world of cricket and entertainment were present in this event. Along with ETPL co-founder Abhishek Bachchan, legends like Chris Gayle, Jonty Rhodes, Glenn Maxwell and Faf du Plessis are also associated with this league.

On this new role, Rahul Dravid said that what attracted him about ETPL was the big thinking behind it. He believes that this league will give a new identity to cricket in Europe as well as provide a great platform for young players to move forward. Dravid said that there is passion for cricket in Dublin and there is immense potential for development here. Shaping the next generation has always been important to him and he believes that ETPL can play a meaningful role in this journey. At the same time, Abhishek Bachchan said that it is very special for ETPL for a great player like Rahul Dravid to join the league. He called it a big step towards the expansion of cricket in Europe.

The ETPL league is being launched in collaboration with Cricket Ireland, Cricket Scotland and the Royal Dutch Cricket Association. Europe’s first ICC-recognised multi-country franchise T20 league will feature teams from Dublin, Belfast, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Rotterdam and Amsterdam. Many of the world’s biggest cricket stars are expected to play in the league, including Mitchell Marsh, Tim David, Mitchell Santner, Liam Livingstone, Glenn Maxwell, Heinrich Klaasen and Faf du Plessis.
