PM Modi officially announced that the first match of the 16th season of Big Bash, a franchise-based T20 league played in Australia, will be played in India. This will be the first time that the first match of a foreign T20 league will be played in India. This match will be played between Melbourne Renegades and Perth Scorchers at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on 12th December.
Will be the main attraction of Australian Cultural Festival
The passion for Big Bash League is also seen a lot in India, in which its season mostly starts in the month of December while the final match is played in the month of January. For the first time, the BBL season will be played in a different country than home. At the same time, the first match of BBL 2026-27 is also going to be the center of major attraction of the one-week Australian Cultural Festival to be organized in India in the month of December.
