Consumption of fruits is considered very beneficial for health. That’s why doctors recommend eating fruits daily. Fruits are an important part of our diet, which are rich in vitamins, minerals and fiber. But to take full advantage of the nutrients present in fruits, it is very important to eat them at the right time. Now the question arises that what is the right time to consume fruits. Here we are going to tell you at what time eating fruits gives you the most benefits.
1. Morning time
Morning time on an empty stomach is considered the best time to consume fruits. After a night’s sleep our body is ready for energy. Metabolism increases in the morning, due to which fruits are easily digested. Apart from this, consuming fruits on an empty stomach in the morning helps in removing toxins from the body. The natural sugar present in fruits provides instant energy to the brain and body. Eating fruits about 30 minutes after waking up in the morning and drinking a glass of lukewarm water is considered most beneficial.
2. Before and after workout
If you work out, consuming fruits gives you energy. Eating fruits like banana or apple before workout provides ‘instant fuel’ to the body, which helps in maintaining stamina during exercise. At the same time, after workout, fruits like papaya or watermelon remove the deficiency of electrolytes and prove helpful in muscle recovery.
3. Time between meals
The time between lunch and evening snack is considered best for eating fruits. When you feel slightly hungry, eat fruits.
When should you not eat fruits?
Do not eat immediately after meals
Often people eat fruits as ‘dessert’ after lunch or dinner. This is the biggest mistake. When you eat fruits with food, the fruits are not digested properly due to the food present in the stomach and start rotting in the stomach itself. This can cause problems like acidity, gas and flatulence.
Avoid before sleeping at night
Eating fruits just before sleeping can increase blood sugar levels, which can spoil your sleep. Also, the fiber present in fruits keeps the digestive system active at night, while the body needs rest at night.
Do not take with milk
According to Ayurveda, sour fruits should never be eaten with milk. Because it can cause problems related to digestion.
