Important information has been issued for the devotees coming to Puri for the darshan of Lord Jagannath. Shri Jagannath Temple Administration has said that on Thursday, June 25, 2026, due to special religious rituals in the temple, darshan of common devotees will be closed for 5 hours.

According to the official notice of the temple administration, Rukmini Haran and Vivah Utsav Niti related to the divine marriage of Lord Shri Krishna and Goddess Rukmini will be organized on the date of Jyeshtha Shukla Ekadashi. This is one of the ancient and important religious traditions of Shri Jagannath Temple.

Rituals will be performed with proper rituals

On this occasion, the sacred rituals of abduction of Princess Rukmini by Lord Shri Krishna and her divine marriage will be performed with due ceremony in the temple. Keeping in mind the smooth and uninterrupted conduct of these special policies, the temple administration has decided to impose a temporary ban on the darshan of common devotees.

The doors will remain closed for common devotees

According to the official information, after the completion of the puja of the first Bhoga Mandap, the darshan of Shri Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Goddess Subhadra will be closed for the general devotees from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm.

The temple administration has appealed to the devotees who are planning to come to Puri for darshan on Thursday. They should do their darshan in the morning only, so that they do not have to face any kind of inconvenience.
