Social activist Sonam Wangchuk, who started her hunger strike from Jantar Mantar over the NEET paper leak issue, finally ended her hunger strike after 26 days after 12 midnight on Thursday. BJP leaders JP Nadda and Jitendra Singh reached Gurugram’s Medanta Hospital and got him to end his fast by giving him juice. After ending the fast, Wangchuk told that 65 MPs from different political parties had requested him to end the fast.

Wangchuk wrote in his tweet that just now Union Minister J.P. I have finally broken my fast after 26 days in the presence of Nadda, Dr. Jitendra Singh and senior leaders of the apex body of Leh-Ladakh. Earlier, 65 MPs from different political parties had met me or written letters requesting me to break the fast. This step has been taken keeping in mind the long negotiations on several conditions and possible violence in the country. I will explain these terms in detail in a separate video very soon. In the meantime, I urge all of you to remain very cautious and not allow any kind of violence to happen anywhere.

PM Modi tweeted

PM Modi reacted to Sonam Wangchuk ending his fast and wrote in a post on X, I urge Sonam ji to keep her daily routine as per the advice of doctors and regain her old weight as soon as possible. I pray to God that Sonam ji remains healthy.

Sonam Wangchuk was shifted to Medanta Hospital

Let us tell you that on June 28, Sonam Wangchuk had started an indefinite hunger strike regarding the NEET paper leak issue. He was sitting on a hunger strike at Jantar Mantar in Delhi in support of the Cockroach Janata Party, after which he was admitted to Safdarjung Hospital due to deteriorating health. After that he was shifted to Medanta Hospital in Gurugram. Sonam Wangchuk kept giving his message to the students. The protesting students had also requested him to end his fast.
