Raw road became a problem in Odisha, villagers took a pregnant woman suffering from labor pain on a stretcher for 2 km

An incident has come to light from Kalahandi district of Odisha, which has again raised questions on the condition of roads and health facilities in rural areas. Due to the poor condition of the road here, a pregnant woman labor pain During this, he had to be carried on a stretcher for about two kilometers to the main road. After this he was taken to the hospital in a private auto. This incident took place in Ghutiguda village of Thuamul Rampur block of Kalahandi district. The pregnant woman has been identified as Ranjita Majhi.

According to the information, Ranjita Majhi started labor pain late on Friday night. The family members immediately called the government Janani Express ambulance so that he could be taken to the hospital as soon as possible. But the condition of the road leading to the village was so bad that the ambulance could not reach there.

It is being told that the road leading to the village was completely filled with mud and the road was broken at many places. In such a situation, the ambulance driver expressed his inability to proceed further. The family members waited for the ambulance for a long time, but when the vehicle could not reach the village, they had to return.

After waiting all night for help, the family arranged for a private auto-rickshaw on Saturday morning. However, even auto could not reach the village. In such a situation, the villagers together prepared a temporary stretcher and laid Ranjita Majhi on it and carried her on foot for about two kilometers through muddy and bad roads to the main road. After reaching the main road, Ranjita Majhi was taken in a private auto-rickshaw to Thuamul Rampur Community Health Centre, where she was admitted for treatment.

After this incident, there has once again been resentment regarding basic facilities in the area. Due to lack of all-weather road to reach the village, villagers often have to face such problems. Especially sick people, elderly and pregnant women face great difficulty in taking them to the hospital in case of emergency.

The villagers allege that the demand for building a road in the village was placed before the administration several times, but till now no concrete steps have been taken in this direction. Due to bad roads, even essential services like ambulance are not able to reach the village, due to which people’s lives are at risk.

Local people have demanded from the administration that a good road should be built till the village as soon as possible so that in future no patient, pregnant woman or other needy person has to face such difficult situations. He has also appealed to make effective arrangements to provide timely health services in remote villages.
