PM Modi’s dialogue with Gen-Z, said- ‘Tradition of collectivism in our country’


Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday interacted with the participants of Viksit Vibrant Village Program through video conferencing. During the interaction with Gen-Z, PM Modi said that there has been a tradition of collectivism in our country. Prime Minister Narendra Modi Connected with the participants of Vikas Gaon Program 2026 through video conferencing and interacted with the youth from every corner of the country.

While interacting with the participants of ‘Developed Vibrant Village Program 2026’ through video conferencing, PM Modi said, ‘Today’s program is really special. Youth from about 250 districts across the country participated in this program. I congratulate you all. A few years ago we started the platform ‘My Young India’ (MY Bharat). Today crores of youth across the country are associated with it and the volunteers of MY Bharat are doing commendable work across the country.

You all showed your ability brilliantly – PM Modi

PM Modi said, ‘From Vikat Bharat Samvad to Vibrant Village programme, you all have shown your abilities brilliantly. During the Vikas Bharat Youth Leaders Dialogue, I had shared an idea with the youth. The idea was: why don’t the youth go beyond virtual mediums and reach the grassroots level. To know India, connect with it, experience life in India and truly understand the country? It is only by going to villages that one can discover the immense aspirations for development there.

Gen-Z assured PM Modi

Describing the new definition of Gen-Z for nation-building, youth Divyanshu Joshi, who participated in the program, said, ‘Prime Minister, on behalf of all MY Bharat volunteers, I assure you that Gen-Z will be fully dedicated to fulfilling the vision of a developed India that you have seen and handed over to us. For us Gen-Z means nation-building.

Youth told the meaning of Gen-Z

Divyanshu Joshi said, ‘Gen Z means character building. Gen Z is synonymous with service. Gen Z represents innovation. That means Gen Z means ‘Nation First’. All of us youth have recorded our experiences during our visits to the border villages. We have decided to share the collection of these experiences with you soon through a detailed summary note.

Know what is Vikas Gaon Programme?

According to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), the Vikas Gaon Program being implemented through MY Bharat is envisioned to realize the Prime Minister’s vision of treating India’s border villages as the first villages of the nation. They are made active participants in the journey to developed India.

The Vikas Gaon Program 2026 was conducted in two phases from June 4 to June 30, covering 74 vibrant villages in Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.

More than 400 young participants selected

The PMO statement further said that over 400 youth participants representing each state and union territory were selected through a nationwide online quiz competition in which over three lakh youth participated.

Under the programme, participants stayed with local communities and took part in activities such as cleanliness drives, awareness campaigns on government schemes, youth conferences, cultural exchange programmes, tree plantation drives, mini model panchayat simulations, interactions with local artisans and visits to institutions of strategic importance.

Promotion of cultural heritage and developmental aspirations

The program gave the participants first-hand exposure to the socio-economic landscape, cultural heritage and developmental aspirations of India’s border areas, while promoting community participation, national integration and a deeper understanding of the strategic importance of border villages.
