Monsoon will reach Kerala tomorrow, warning of rain with thunderstorm in more than 15 states; Hail will fall in Rajasthan-Kashmir


New Delhi: South-West Monsoon will hit Kerala on June 4 i.e. tomorrow. Due to which rain can be seen in many parts of the country. Strong winds may also blow. Meteorologist Neetha K. “If the current weather pattern continues to be the same, the department will officially declare the arrival of monsoon on June 4,” Gopal said. Generally, the south-west monsoon reaches Kerala around June 1st. This time there has been a delay in its arrival.

Orange alert of heavy rain in Kerala

In view of the arrival of monsoon, the Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for heavy rain in Kerala. The weather department has issued orange alerts for Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Thrissur and Malappuram districts for Wednesday and Thursday. Apart from this, heavy rain is also expected in Pathanamthitta and Kozhikode on Thursday. Meteorological officials have warned that in some areas there may be 11 to 20 cm of rain in a short time.

Warning of heavy rain in these states also

The Meteorological Department has predicted pre-monsoon rain in large parts of India for the next few days. Thunderstorm with lightning, strong winds and moderate to heavy rain is expected in many areas. The states where thunderstorm activity is likely include Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand. At the same time, heavy rains are expected in Kerala, Tamil Nadu and many northeastern states.

According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder, lightning and strong winds over Northeast India during the next 5 days. Heavy rain is likely over Arunachal Pradesh, Kerala, Lakshadweep, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Odisha and Telangana during June 3-8. During this period, storm can blow at a speed of 50-60 km. There is a possibility of storm blowing at a speed of 70 km at some places.

Dust storm in Rajasthan and possibility of hailstorm in Kashmir

Apart from this, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Punjab, Chandigarh, Rajasthan, Delhi, Western Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh during June 3 to 6. During this period, winds can blow at a speed of 40-50 km. There is a possibility of hailstorm at some places in Jammu and Kashmir and Rajasthan on June 3 and 4. There is a high possibility of dust storm at some places in Western Rajasthan on June 3.
