About 52 pilgrims who set out on the Mansarovar pilgrimage are stuck in Nepal and are unable to go to China. Regarding this, the Ministry of External Affairs of India has received many requests to expel him. The Ministry of External Affairs has clarified its position regarding this and has also issued an advisory for the travelers going on the pilgrimage to Mansarovar.
Advisory for those traveling to Mansarovar
Several appeals have been made to the Ministry of External Affairs for assistance to Indian citizens stranded in Nepal. These citizens had gone on Kailash Mansarovar Yatra through private tour operators, but they did not have the necessary permits and visas to enter China. The Indian Ministry of External Affairs said in its advisory-
- Citizens are advised not to commence their journey from India until all travel documents required for the journey are obtained.
- Starting the journey without confirmed documents or in the hope of getting the required documents later increases the risk of getting stuck.
- Pilgrims are also advised to ensure that their tour operator is properly registered and authorized.
Travelers stranded in Nepal are waiting to get Chinese visa
On the other hand, the Indian Embassy in Nepal has contacted tour operator Obil Adhikari, who is in-charge of this group. According to information received from the tour operator, Indian citizens allegedly stranded in Nepal are staying in hotels in Kathmandu. Their passports are deposited at the Chinese Embassy in New Delhi and they are waiting for their visas to be issued. The tour operator has said that visas can be issued from the Chinese Embassy in New Delhi in a few days.
Religious importance of Mansarovar
It is noteworthy that Mansarovar is a religious and spiritual place for Hindus. The sacred lake of Manasarovar is associated with Lord Shiva. It is believed that by taking bath on its banks and drinking the water of this lake, one gets freedom from sins. Mount Kailash situated near Lake Manasarovar is also considered to be the abode of Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati.
