There is news of great relief for thousands of people living in Gurugram. Soon, preparations have started to directly connect Sector-37C and Sector-37D with Dwarka Expressway. For this, Railway Over Bridge (ROB) will be built on the railway line. After the completion of this project, more than 12,000 families will get relief from daily traffic jams and reaching Dwarka Expressway will become much easier.
Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) has taken the first step towards constructing ROB at the railway gate to connect Sector-37C and Sector-37D with Dwarka Expressway. For this, a tender has been issued to prepare DPR (Detailed Project Report). This tender will be opened on 8th July. The consultant company that will be selected will have to prepare the DPR within three months and will also have to obtain design approval from the Railways.
Relief from daily traffic jam
At present, people from both these sectors have to cross the railway gate to reach Dwarka Expressway. Due to the closure of the gates at the time of arrival of the train, long queues of vehicles form on both sides. Office going people and school children also have to face problems daily. After the construction of ROB, dependence on railway gates will end and people’s travel will become faster and easier than before.
Even bad roads will become better
The condition of the road from the railway gate to the petrol pump is currently very bad. After the recent rains, there have been huge potholes on the road, due to which the drivers are facing problems. Many people are forced to reach the railway gate through private land. It is expected that this entire route will also be developed along with the ROB project.
Railways will also bear half the expenses
The Railway Department has already given its approval for this project. According to the information, the Railway Department will bear 50 percent of the total cost of ROB construction. Due to less availability of land, the bridge can be made of two or three lanes. The final width will be decided after the DPR is prepared.
Connectivity with Delhi will also become stronger
Meanwhile, the Central Government has also approved an 8.1 km long six-lane underground tunnel at a cost of about Rs 6,970 crore to connect Dwarka Expressway to Nelson Mandela Marg in Vasant Kunj in South Delhi. This tunnel will start from Shivmurti Interchange and go till Vasant Kunj. With its construction, travel between Gurugram, Dwarka, Indira Gandhi International Airport and South Delhi will become faster than before.
