In the 50th league match of the Indian Premier League, which was played between Lucknow Super Giants and Royal Challengers Bangalore team at Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow, an incident happened with the star player of RCB team Virat Kohli which shocked everyone. Everyone was expecting a big innings from Kohli in this match because he has appeared in very good form so far in IPL 2026. Facing only 2 balls in this match, Kohli returned to the pavilion after being bowled on a duck by Prince Yadav’s excellent ball.

Virat Kohli is recognized as a chase master in world cricket, his amazing feat has been seen in IPL also. When Kohli came on the field to bat in the match against Lucknow Super Giants, he mistook the second ball of Prince Yadav for Lucknow who came to bowl the second over, in which this fast inswing ball which came at a speed of 140.4 kilometers per hour blew away Kohli’s off stump. With this, this is the first time in the IPL since 2017 that Virat Kohli got out on a duck while chasing in a match. Earlier in the 2017 IPL season, he was out on a duck while chasing the target in the match against Kolkata Knight Riders in which RCB team was reduced to a score of 49 in this match.
Kohli out on duck after 46 innings
In the IPL, before this match against Lucknow Super Giants, Virat Kohli was last out on a duck in the match against Rajasthan Royals in the 2023 season, after which now after 46 innings he has returned to the pavilion without opening the account. Prince Yadav has become only the second bowler in IPL history to bowl Kohli for a duck, before which Dhawal Kulkarni had last achieved this feat in the 2016 IPL season.
