The Indian cricket team will tour Sri Lanka for a two-Test series in August. The Senior Selection Committee of BCCI has announced the Indian team for this series. As expected, Washington Sundar was not available for the first Test due to injury, hence he has not got a place in this series. Jasprit Bumrah and Sai Sudarshan have been included in the team, but their playing will depend on their fitness.
Saransh Jain got a chance in place of Sundar
Let us tell you that Washington Sundar was injured during the recently played ODI series against England. Due to that injury, he was out of the third ODI match. Since then there were reports that Sundar would be out of the Test series against Sri Lanka. Now a new player has been included in the Test team in his place. This player is off-spinner Saransh Jain, who has received the Test Maiden call up for the first time.
Question mark on fitness of Bumrah and Sundar
Before this Test series, there are question marks over the fitness of Jasprit Bumrah and Sai Sudarshan. Both will be included in the team only after getting fitness clearance. Talking about Bumrah, he also got injured during the ODI series in England. Before the third ODI, his knee got swollen, due to which he remained out of the last match.

While announcing the squad, BCCI has also informed in its media advisory that before the series, the Indian team will play a four-day practice match in Colombo from August 7. After this, the 2-match test series will start from August 15. The first match of the series will be played in Galle. After this, the second test match will start from 23rd August and this match will be held at SSC Colombo.
