Indian star female badminton player PV Sindhu had a brilliant performance against Chinese player Chen Yufei in the semi-finals of the Japan Open Super-750 badminton tournament and she has managed to secure her place for the finals. The semi-final match against the Chinese player was not easy for Sindhu because before this she had to face defeat in the last 5 matches. Sindhu had won the first set of this match by a very close margin, whereas in the second set, she was leading 15-10, while Eufei had to withdraw from the second game of the match due to a hamstring injury. Now in the final match to be held on July 19, PV Sindhu will face the winner of the second semi-final between Akane Yamaguchi and Kusuma Wardani.
Sindhu dominated from the first set itself, maintained the lead in the second as well.
In the semi-final match of Japan Open, PV Sindhu’s dominance was visible from the first set, in which at one time she had a huge lead of 10-5. After this, Yufei made a comeback and made the first set exciting. In which both the players were not giving each other any chance to score points at all. At one time, the match was tied at 19-19 in the first set, after which Sindhu won the first set by winning the next 2 points and took a 1-0 lead in the match. With the beginning of the second set, Sindhu did not lose her momentum and when she was leading by 15-10, Chinese player Chen Yufei had to accept defeat due to a hamstring injury. Earlier, PV Sindhu had got a walkover in the quarterfinal match against former world champion Noami Okuhara.
Will play any final match after two years
PV Sindhu has seen a very good form in the year 2026, in which she has improved her world ranking from 18 earlier to 9. Sindhu will play the final match of a tournament after a long gap of two years. Earlier, she had played the final match of Syed Modi International in the year 2024 which she was successful in winning.
