Commonwealth Games 2026 will start from today, India will have this schedule on the first day


The Commonwealth Games 2026 is being organized this time in Glasgow city of Scotland, in which about 3000 athletes from 74 countries will participate. This time the Commonwealth is going to be very small in which only 10 sports events are being organized and there will be a total of 215 medal events. Everyone is expecting a better performance from the Indian athletes in the Commonwealth Games, in which even though the number of medal winning events has reduced, they can still be expected to perform brilliantly. While the opening ceremony will be organized on the first day, Indian players will participate in lawn balls events.

India is participating in the Commonwealth Games for the 19th time

India will be participating for the 19th time in this Commonwealth Games starting from July 23. Last time the Commonwealth Games were organized in Birmingham, England, in which India had a brilliant performance and was successful in winning a total of 61 medals.

This will be India’s schedule on the first day

If we talk about the schedule of the first day, Indian players will play group stage matches in both men and women categories of lawn balls. Apart from this, the Indian team will then participate in the opening ceremony to be held in the evening. The Opening Ceremony of the Commonwealth Games will be held at Ovo Hydro, Glasgow.

  • Men’s Singles Group Stage (Lawn Balls) – 2 pm IST
  • Women’s Pairs Group Stage (Lawn Balls) – 2 pm IST
  • Opening Ceremony – 10:30 pm IST

When, where and how to watch the match in India

Commonwealth Games 2026 in India will be telecast live on TV on Sony Sports Network, while online live streaming will be done on Sony Liv app, where fans can easily login and watch the events. These games will start at 1:30 pm Indian time, while most of the medal events will start at 9:30 pm, which can be held till late night.

This time, these athletes are expected to win maximum medals.

Even though only 10 sports are being organized in the Commonwealth Games 2026, yet there are some Indian athletes who are expected to win the most medals, in which, apart from star Neeraj Chopra in javelin throw, Mirabai Chanu in weightlifting, Murali Srishankar in long jump, Lovlina Borgohain in boxing and Tulika Mann in judo are expected to win medals.
