New Delhi: It rained intermittently in Delhi-NCR on Wednesday. Apart from Delhi, there was heavy rain in many other states of the country. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rain, thunderstorm and strong winds in many parts of the country on July 9.

The Meteorological Department has said that favorable conditions are being created for the advance of southwest monsoon into the rest of North India in the next two-three days. Monsoon is expected to cover remaining parts of Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab and North Arabian Sea and spread over the entire country. There is a possibility of rain with thunderstorm and strong winds in many states including Punjab, Haryana, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Konkan and Goa, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka and Kerala.
According to the Meteorological Department, there may be rain in Haryana, Punjab, Delhi, Eastern Rajasthan, Western Uttar Pradesh, Eastern Uttar Pradesh on July 9. The rainy season may continue till July 13. There may be heavy rains with thunderstorms in Uttarakhand between July 9 and 14. There are chances of heavy rain in Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh also on July 9. At the same time, there may be rain in Bihar-Jharkhand, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim. There may be intense lightning activity in Bihar on 9th and 10th July. In these areas, winds are likely to blow at a speed of 40-60 km per hour and at some places the wind speed may reach 70 km per hour.
How will the weather be in Delhi-NCR on Thursday?
NCR including Delhi and Noida will remain cloudy on July 9. Light rain at many places and moderate rain at some places may occur before morning/afternoon. Along with this, there will be lightning and strong winds can blow at a speed of 30-40 km/hour. At some places the wind speed can be up to 50 km/hour. The maximum and minimum temperatures in Delhi are likely to range between 32°C to 34°C and 23°C to 25°C respectively. The minimum temperature will be much below normal in most places. It will remain cloudy in Delhi on 10th July also. There is a possibility of light rain, thunderstorm and lightning from morning to afternoon. The maximum and minimum temperatures in Delhi will be between 34°C to 36°C and 24°C to 26°C respectively.
