There is no respite from the scorching heat in North India, the next seven days will be heavy, Orange alert of heat wave


New Delhi: Most areas of the country including North India are scorching in the scorching heat. Heat wave continues to wreak havoc in North-West India as well as Central India and its surrounding areas. According to the Meteorological Department, severe heat conditions will continue for the next seven days. Heat wave warning has been issued by the Meteorological Department for Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, as well as Vidarbha, Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada regions of Maharashtra.

‘Warm Night’ warning in these areas

Meteorological Department scientist Akhilesh Srivastava says that people will have to face severe heat for the next one week. A special warning of ‘Warm Night’ has been issued for the areas of West Rajasthan and West Uttar Pradesh. As a result, ‘Orange Alert’ has also been issued for these areas. Meanwhile, the situation in some parts of Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha may change from normal heat wave to ‘severe heat wave’. For this reason, ‘Orange Alert’ has been issued there also.

Hot and humid weather in Odisha

At the same time, hot and humid weather is expected to persist in Odisha for the next three to four days. The Meteorological Department has said that extreme heat may occur in some parts of Uttar Pradesh. People have been advised to avoid going out during the afternoon, drink enough water and take health precautions. UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has also instructed the officials in this regard to remain alert. He has also appealed to the public to take utmost precaution between May 19 and May 21 and not leave their homes in the afternoon unless absolutely necessary.

South-west monsoon likely to reach Kerala by May 26

Meanwhile, there is news of relief regarding monsoon. The Meteorological Department said on Monday that the southwest monsoon is likely to reach Kerala on May 26. There may be a difference of four days in the date of arrival of monsoon. IMD said heavy rains with lightning and strong winds are expected over parts of Kerala and Mahe in the next five days. According to the Meteorological Department, this may be due to the cyclonic circulation over South Coastal Andhra Pradesh and adjoining areas, which has led to the formation of a low air pressure area in the South-Eastern Arabian Sea adjoining Kerala, South Interior Karnataka, Rayalaseema and South Lakshadweep.

Heavy rain expected in many parts of Kerala

According to the IMD, the southwest monsoon has advanced into most parts of the southeast Arabian Sea and parts of Kanyakumari region. According to the Meteorological Department, it has also advanced into most parts of southwest and southeast Bay of Bengal, most parts of Andaman Sea, Andaman Nicobar Islands and some parts of east-central Bay of Bengal. IMD has issued ‘Orange Alert’ for two districts and ‘Yellow Alert’ for 10 districts regarding the possibility of heavy rain in many parts of Kerala. ‘Orange alert’ has been issued for Kannur and Kasaragod districts, while ‘Yellow alert’ has been issued for 10 districts except Thrissur and Palakkad. For Tuesday, IMD has issued ‘yellow alert’ for nine districts.
