According to sources, amid the political turmoil in Karnataka, the Congress Legislature Party meeting will be held late tomorrow evening or day after tomorrow morning. After Siddaramaiah’s resignation from the post of CM, now the next CM of Karnataka will be DK Shivakumar. DK Shivakumar has asked for three dates from his astrologer for swearing in as CM. According to the availability of Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi, one of these dates will be fixed for the oath taking of DK Shivkumar as CM. Before Siddaramaiah reaches Delhi, a big meeting of Congress is going on at 10 Rajaji Marg, in which Rahul Gandhi and Venugopal are also present.
DK Shivkumar will reach Delhi
DK Shivkumar is leaving for Delhi by Indigo flight at 7.40 pm. According to sources, DK Shivkumar is going to Delhi to invite all senior leaders including Rahul Priyanka for the swearing-in ceremony and also to take advice from the High Command on cabinet formation. The three-year-long leadership dispute with Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar has ended after Congress leader Siddaramaiah resigned from the post of Chief Minister of Karnataka. Now Shivkumar will take over as CM and will lead the party in the assembly election campaign to be held in 2028.
Siddaramaiah said – I will stay in politics
Hours after resigning as Karnataka Chief Minister and handing over power to Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, Siddaramaiah made it clear that he was not interested in playing any role at the national level. He said that he will remain in state politics as an MLA. Let us tell you that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi had advised him that he should go for Rajya Sabha and now do politics at the national level in Delhi. But Siddaramaiah has ignored his advice, although his decision was perhaps not expected by the party’s central leadership.
