The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has arrested real estate businessman Vikram Wadhwa under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002, in connection with the ongoing investigation in the IDFC Bank fraud case. According to the information, Vikram Wadhwa was arrested on May 29. The arrest has been made in connection with the agency’s ongoing investigation into the embezzlement of public funds worth Rs 645 crore from the accounts of Haryana government, Chandigarh Union Territory administration and two private schools located in Chandigarh and Panchkula in IDFC First Bank.
According to the ED, Wadhwa is one of the main accused who embezzled government funds in collusion with Ribhav Rishi, Abhay Kumar, bank officials and government officials.
