Panic created after drone hovering over ISRO campus in Bengaluru, FIR registered

Bengaluru: There was panic after a drone was reportedly seen flying over ISRO’s ISITE campus in Bengaluru, Karnataka. FIR has been registered in this matter. Police said that this ISRO complex is a “drone prohibited area”. Police said that this incident happened on May 2 at around 8.16 am.

CISF sub inspector complained

The investigation was initiated following a complaint by a sub-inspector of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) who saw an unidentified drone flying for 10 to 12 seconds at a height of about 80 to 100 feet over the ISITE (Satellite Integration and Test Establishment) campus.

serious threat to security

According to the FIR, the ISRO ISITE campus is a highly sensitive and restricted area, which has been declared a “drone no-go zone”. Any unauthorized air activity in such a sensitive area poses a serious security threat. The complaint alleges that despite being aware that there was a “no drone zone”, some unidentified persons flew the drone illegally in the restricted area.

A case has been registered against unidentified persons at HAL police station under section 329(3) of the Indian Justice Code (criminal trespass) and relevant sections of the Aircraft Act for flying a drone in a restricted area without permission, police said. Police said that investigation into the case is ongoing.
