Monsoon has advanced from Kerala, know when it will reach Delhi-NCR and UP? IMD gave latest update


Monsoon 2026 Update: It is extremely hot in many parts of the country including North India. The summer temperature is reaching 45 degrees. Now everyone is eagerly waiting for the monsoon. Monsoon has arrived in Kerala. Now this monsoon is moving towards further states. In such a situation, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has given the latest update regarding monsoon. According to IMD, monsoon is likely to arrive in Delhi-NCR from June 25 to 30. This monsoon can arrive in Uttar Pradesh between June 20 and 25.

There will be heavy rain in Noida, Gurugram and Ghaziabad

Only after the arrival of monsoon, people of Delhi-NCR and Uttar Pradesh can get relief from the scorching heat. IMD said that due to the south-west monsoon, rain has been predicted in neighboring NCR cities including Noida, Gurugram and Ghaziabad only between June 25 and 30.

Monsoon will reach Haryana, Punjab and Chandigarh

According to the monsoon forecast, it will move north-west and reach parts of Haryana, Punjab and Chandigarh, while Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh may also receive partial rain along with Delhi-NCR.

Monsoon last reached Delhi on June 29

Last year, the southwest monsoon reached Delhi on June 29, two days later than its normal onset date of June 27, based on the 1961-2019 average. This time, the monsoon is expected to arrive in Delhi-NCR on time.

Monsoon reaches Goa and Maharashtra via Kerala

This time, monsoon reached Kerala on June 4, three days later than its normal onset date of June 1 and almost a week behind the IMD’s earlier forecast of May 26. However, it moved rapidly thereafter and covered large parts of the west coast up to Goa by 5 June, then entered Maharashtra on 6 June.
