The search for MBA student Babita Pandey, who went missing near Dayara Bugyal Trek in Uttarakhand, continues on the 13th day. According to information received from police sources, the last active location of Babita’s mobile is said to be about 200 meters below the Goi area, the stop of Dayara Trek. Despite finding the last location of Babita’s mobile, no concrete clue has been found yet, due to which the mystery is deepening.
Search intensified around last location
On one hand, many administration teams are busy searching for Babita through combined operation, while on the other hand, the police have registered a case in Kotwali Maneri and started investigation. The investigating agencies are continuously interrogating the people who were in contact with Babita along with investigating the call details and location history of Babita’s mobile phone.

Along with manual search, aerial surveillance is also going on through helicopters and drones in the high hills and areas beyond the reach of humans, while the dog squad team is also busy searching for clues of Babita. Babita, for whom everyone is searching, had stayed with her two friends in Raithal village on May 28, the footage of which was captured in CCTV. A day later, they started trekking from Raithal to Dayara Bugyal and spent the night at Goi Base Camp. But Babita went missing from the camp. From then till today the search for Babita continues. The forests, hilly areas, isolated places and water sources surrounding the Goi camp near where Babita went missing have been thoroughly searched, but till now no important clue has been found.

During the investigation, negligence of the trekking and camping agency has also come to light. The District Tourism Officer of Uttarkashi has suspended the license of the concerned agency. The department is also taking further action. 23 year old Babita is the only sister of two brothers and the eldest child of the family. Elder brother Harshit Pandey and his mother are present with the rescue teams in Uttarkashi while younger brother Tanuj Pandey, grandmother and disabled father are waiting for Babita’s safe return in Ramnagar.

The Dayara Bugyal track of Uttarkashi from where Babita went missing is counted among the most famous alpine meadows of Uttarakhand. The white blanket of snow in winter and the wide spread green meadows in summer make it popular among tourists from India and abroad. From here, spectacular views of Bandarpoonch, Srikanth, Draupadi Ka Danda and Gangotri ranges are visible. This is the reason why thousands of trekkers visit this area every year. Babita was also among those tourists who wanted to see this beauty more closely through trekking. But after coming here he is missing and the search for him continues even on the thirteenth day.
