Massive fire broke out in two trucks after a head-on collision, both drivers burnt alive


A very painful road accident occurred on Tuesday in Sundergarh district of Odisha. There was a massive head-on collision between two trucks on National Highway 10. The collision was so severe that both the trucks caught fire and both the drivers trapped in them were burnt to death.

This accident happened near Kaintra under Bhasma police station area. According to preliminary information, a truck was going from Jharsuguda towards Sundargarh. During this time the driver lost control of his truck. After losing control, the truck crossed the divider in the middle of the road and reached the other lane. At the same time, another truck was coming from Sundergarh towards Jharsuguda. Suddenly he had a direct collision with a truck coming in the wrong direction. The collision was so strong that the front parts of both the trucks were badly damaged.

Huge fire broke out in trucks after collision

It is being told that the diesel tank of a truck burst during the accident. After this, strong flames started rising. Within a few minutes the fire engulfed both the trucks. The fire spread so fast that both the trucks were completely burnt to ashes.

Difficult to identify dead body

As soon as information about the accident was received, the local police and fire department teams reached the spot. After much effort the fire was brought under control. However, by then both the drivers were trapped inside the trucks and had died. The fire was so fierce that the bodies of both the drivers were completely charred. The condition of the dead bodies became so bad that even identifying them became difficult. At present both the deceased have not been identified.

After the incident, the police have registered the case and started investigation. Officials are trying to find out how the truck driver lost control of the vehicle and whether there was any other reason behind the accident.
