A sudden fire broke out in a female paying guest (PG) in Bengaluru on the intervening night of Sunday and Monday. When the flames and black smoke blocked all the exits, there was a stampede among the girls living in the PG. But fortunately all the girls jumped out safely before the fire spread, CCTV footage of this incident has come to light.
How did the accident happen?
This incident happened in Nandini Layout, Bengaluru, at around 1.45 am on Sunday night, a massive fire broke out in a paying guest house, due to which there was chaos. Police investigation revealed that the fire allegedly started due to a short circuit in the wiring of a nearby LED banner shop and quickly spread to the adjacent four-storey PG building. Within minutes, the flames engulfed the entire building, leaving the residents there with no other option but to flee. More than 30 girls saved their lives by jumping.
Girls jumped to save their lives
It can be seen in the CCTV footage that as the fire was engulfing the building, many girls were jumping down in panic. With the prompt action of local people and fire brigade personnel, everyone was evacuated to a safe place. Eyewitnesses said that a major tragedy was averted by evacuating people in time. Police have confirmed that there is no report of any casualty in this incident.

Bengaluru Police has started investigating the matter. Initially it is being considered as a short circuit, but the police is investigating from all aspects so that such incidents can be prevented in future.
