The first section of Bullet Train will start in 2027, but Japan’s E10 train will be available in 2030s.

For crores of countrymen who are dreaming of India’s first bullet train, a big update has come out from the Mumbai-Ahmedabad high-speed rail project. The ongoing bilateral talks between India and Japan regarding this ambitious project are moving in a positive direction. Both the countries have taken a new decision regarding the timeline of the project and operation of trains. Under this new strategic change, the way has been cleared to start the bullet train service on time, but there has been a big twist regarding the trains running on the tracks.

The best news regarding the infrastructure of the Bullet Train project is that the construction work at the ground level is progressing at a fast pace. Due to the concerted efforts of the government and concerned agencies, the project has gained momentum. The result of this rapid progress is that First section of Mumbai-Ahmedabad high-speed rail corridor in 2027 Will be opened for general public travel.

Will have to wait for Japan’s modern E10 train

A big technical update has come regarding the delivery of trains in this mega project. According to the planning, Japan is going to provide its state-of-the-art E10 series bullet trains to India. However, it is worth noting that the advanced E10 series train is still a work in progress. This is the reason why Japan will be able to supply these trains to India only after 2030. That means, due to technical reasons, it will take a few more years for this main train of Japanese origin to come to India.

Initial journey will start from Indian high-speed train

Now the biggest question was that if Japanese trains will arrive after 2030, which train will run in the first section starting in 2027? To overcome this hurdle, both India and Japan have made a very practical and big agreement. Both countries have agreed that the initial operations of the bullet train will be flagged off along with the Indian high-speed train in 2027. This important decision reflects the clear resolve of both the countries to operationalize this high-speed rail project as soon as possible without any delay.
