Stock Market Today 4 May, 2026: The domestic stock market today started trading in the green with gains. On Monday, BSE Sensex opened at 77,257.27 points with a rise of 343.77 points (0.45 percent). Whereas, NSE’s Nifty 50 index also started trading today at 24,063.55 points with a gain of 66.00 points (0.28 percent). On the first day of the week, the impact of global market signals and initial trends of assembly elections held in different states of the country is being seen on the domestic stock market. Especially, BJP’s lead in the initial trends of West Bengal is also positively affecting the domestic stock market.
Maruti Suzuki shares made a bumper start
On Monday, shares of 28 out of 30 Sensex companies opened in the green with gains and shares of the remaining 2 companies opened in the red with a decline. Similarly, shares of 44 out of 50 companies of Nifty 50 opened with a rise and the shares of all the remaining 6 companies opened in the red with a decline. Among the Sensex companies, shares of auto company Maruti Suzuki opened today with the maximum gain of 4.30 percent and shares of private sector Kotak Mahindra Bank opened today with the maximum fall of 3.88 percent. Apart from this, shares of Bharti Airtel started trading with a loss of 0.24 per cent.
