The total length of this entire project will be 46.039 kilometers, which will cost about ₹ 14,447.64 crore to build. This greenfield corridor will provide excellent connectivity to the road network of Varanasi. The biggest benefit of this project will be that it will reduce the average travel time of vehicles in this impact area from about 60 minutes to just 20 minutes. This will make it very easy to reach the major religious, educational and cultural places of the city.

43.2 km long 6/4-lane elevated corridor will be built on the banks of Varuna river.

To reduce congestion within Varanasi city, the government has approved another spectacular corridor along the banks of river Varuna. It will be a 6/4-lane elevated corridor of 43.218 km long, which will directly connect National Highway-31 and Varanasi Ring Road. This very important urban project will cost a total of ₹10,998.32 crore.

Kashi Railway Station will get seamless connectivity

This second corridor, to be built as part of the Varanasi Decongestant Plan, will provide seamless connectivity between NH-31 and Kashi Railway Station. After its commissioning, there will be a direct 50% reduction in the travel time between NH-31 and Kashi Railway Station, which will reduce the journey of 40 minutes to only 20 minutes. Along with this, this corridor will also give a new impetus to the economic development of the region. This route will significantly strengthen the connectivity with Chandauli Social Economic Zone, Chandauli and six major logistics nodes, thereby accelerating trade and freight movement.
