There is news of relief for crores of PF account holders. After being closed for about 7 days, the Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has finally restarted its website and online services. The organization says that during this period, database and software upgrade work has been done on a large scale on the portal, so that in future, members and employers can get better and faster services than before. However, some services may take longer than usual for the first few days.
Services resumed after software upgrade
EPFO said that all essential online services for members and employers have been restarted. The purpose of the upgrades made on the portal is to make the system more secure, faster and reliable, so that PF related tasks can be completed easily.

It may take a little more time up to 2 weeks
The organization has said that all claims and service requests will be processed in a phased manner for the next two weeks. During this time, the process of extra verification and authentication will also be adopted, so that the accuracy of all the records can be ensured. In such a situation, PF withdrawal, transfer or other services may take a little more time than usual.
EPFO made this appeal to the members
EPFO has appealed to all members and employers to be patient. The organization has said that avoid repeated login to the portal or sending the same request multiple times. This may increase unnecessary pressure on the system and affect the speed of services.
What new features have been found?
At present, EPFO has not shared the details of any new feature or facility. The organization has only said that the system, database and software have been upgraded, which will improve the quality of services and user experience in future. That is, it has not been made clear yet what major changes have been made in the PF claim process or other facilities.
The deadline had to be extended several times
Initially EPFO had announced that the maintenance work would be completed by June 28 and the services would start from June 29. The deadline was later extended to July 1 and the website was finally fully restored on July 3 afternoon.
