Another rapid rail in NCR! After Meerut, Namo Bharat will now run on Delhi-Karnal route

The scope of fast and modern transport is continuously increasing in Delhi-NCR. After the successful operation of Namo Bharat (Rapid Rail) on the Delhi-Meerut route, now preparations to start work on the Delhi-Karnal corridor have also intensified. The special thing is that the work on this project has started at the ground level even before the final approval of the Union Cabinet, due to which it is expected that in the coming time, this route will also make the travel of the people very easy.

136 kilometer long elevated corridor

This rapid rail corridor to be built from Delhi to Karnal will be about 136 kilometers long. Most of it will be elevated, which will reduce the problem of land acquisition and the construction work can be completed faster. This route will be developed along the National Highway, which will further improve connectivity.

Speed gained from shifting work

To speed up this project, NCRTC has started the work of shifting of essential facilities like electricity and water. Recently tenders have been issued for relocation of 33 KV and 11 KV power lines. Apart from this, preparations are also underway to shift about 36 km long sewer and water pipeline. This initial work is an indication that the project is now progressing rapidly.

Big interchanges will be available in Delhi

A specialty of the Delhi-Karnal route will be its large interchange stations. Starting from Sarai Kale Khan, this corridor will connect to Delhi Metro at key places like Indraprastha and Kashmere Gate. Connectivity will also be provided with the bus stand at Kashmiri Gate. With this, passengers will be able to get the facility of train, metro and bus in a single network.

Delhi-Karnal route came in priority

Initially, three routes of Namo Bharat were decided – Delhi-Meerut, Delhi-Gurugram-SNB and Delhi-Panipat. But on the request of Haryana Government, the Panipat route was extended to Karnal. Now according to the information, work can start on Delhi-Karnal corridor before Delhi-Gurugram.

What will be the benefit?

With the commencement of this route, travel between Delhi and Haryana will become very easy and fast. People traveling daily will get relief from traffic jams and travel time will also reduce significantly. Apart from this, this corridor will also promote development and investment in the surrounding areas.
